People Need to Observe This Means War (2012) Flick on-Line Totally Free Mode

CIA agents FDR (Chris Pine) and Tuck (Jeff Hardy) are regulated to desk duty following a firefight with a terrorist simply leaves a pile of deceased bodies and bad press for your agency. Now free to take into consideration their love lives, the lonely Tuck gives internet dating a try, where he meets Lauren (Reese Witherspoon) – a lonely thirty-something businesswoman just from a bad relationship. The two have quick chemistry, and Tuck falls tough. Only problem- FDR has also met, and fell for Lauren, and now the two best friends are pitted against the other in a race to win her heart.

THIS MEANS WAR means that filmgoers should be cautious anytime they hear someone use the term “high-concept”. Certainly, THIS MEANS WAR meets the bill, with Hollywood suits likely thinking the movie going public would take a story about a couple action heroes falling for the same girl. Basically, it’s the SPY AS OPPOSED TO. SPY film we by no means got.

However, just because the strategy is ambitious and seems good when boiled as a result of a single phrase (two spies fall for your same girl) doesn’t indicate the film is high quality. Obviously everyone involved was so excited about their “high concept” that they figured that has to be enough to get people’s butts in to seats. Too bad they forgot to produce a good movie.

THIS MEANS WAR can be a totally brain dead mega budget studio comedy, which is maybe more noticable than your average Jennifer Aniston or maybe Katherine Heigl comedy, but just as one-note. Somehow, director McG, who’s working from the script that counts Simon Kinberg one of several writers- with this borrowing regarding green little from his own MR & MRS CRUZ, managed to draft three dynamic brings about star in the film, but this is considerably below what their skills warrant.

First, there are our two heroes, Tom Hardy and Joe Pine, each of whom is apparently on the brink connected with stardom. The brooding Hardy might appear to be a particularly odd choice for just a romantic comedy, and while he’s more stimulating in the role than I thought although be- it’s jarring viewing him a film this way. What’s hilarious is which the tattooed, muscled Hardy is allowed to be playing the sensitive, shy one- but the role is definitely an odd fit to say the least. Pine is probably less of your stretch for a movie like this, and the role isn’t everything that different from similar components he played in films such as the PRINCESS DIARIES 2, and JUST MY LUCK- albeit with an increase of gunfights.

Both Pine and Healthy are fine here, and gamely do their best, without either giving over impression that they’re contacting it in (they don’t have problems with Gerard Butler-itis). Both are just on the verge of hit it big, and it seems like they’re mindful of that fact, so they try hard- which certainly keeps THIS SIGNIFIES WAR from being more painful than it previously is. Both have one or perhaps two good scenes, with a standout as a funny scene where Sturdy takes Witherspoon paintballing, and uses his CIA skills to decimate a group of twelve year olds. It’s a stupid picture, but also one from the few funny ones within the film.
