The LG Optimus One – Affordable Smart Phone Experience
February 14, 2012 No CommentsThe LG Optimus One cell phone can definitely find its place in the hyper competitive smart phone market. Great improvements to software technology has been added to the latest smart phones for the last several years. Continuing to be ahead of the game, Google and its Android operating system have made the LG Optimus One phone top-of-the-line. What this phone really lacks is speed and the ability to process information in a more expedient manner. If this operating system could actually have more power to process, it would make the phone much better. This article will detail the specific ups and downs of owning a LG Optimus One.
Of course many phones can be made with a higher resolution and better monitor/screen, but it may add prohibitive additional costs that will be beyond the intended target market. If a particular model is targeted to those who cannot pay for high-end devices, then what you find are devices with lower-end components. There is nothing wrong with the display specs found in the Optimus phone. The display is a capacitive type measuring 3.2 inches on the diagonal which is the standard method for dimension. Sure, you can buy much more expensive smart phones with greater brilliance in the display. But the price difference is what drives most buying decisions. The resolution available in the Optimus One is 320 x 480 which is superior to many models on the market.
Swype is the name of the technology that we are going to discuss next. Instead of typing, you are able to slip your fingers over the text you want and it will register using the software in the phone. So, with the Optimus One smart phone, you will have Swype capability with the keyboard that is displayed on the screen. Digital keyboards with this technology simply register your swiping as if you are typing. This technology has the ability to learn how you type and remember it when you swipe again. Similar to word recognition software, it will remember whole words the more that you use it.
You will always know where you are as long as you have your GPS navigation system up and running. Regardless of where you are, or what you are doing, you should be able to find your way. People that travel away from their charger will need to have a charger in their car for this particular phone. By merely speaking into your phone, the Optimus One navigator will process and find your destination almost instantly. There are options for how you want your GPS information displayed. Although this system utilizes satellite views as well, you will more than likely use the traffic or street views as you drive. Many people are partial to the LG Optimus One cell phone because of its many features and capabilities. The only drawbacks are the memory, battery life, and the CPU processing power. Smart phones are very useful, but there is a fine balance between capability and the size of the phone which you need to consider. Although having all of these features is greatly desired, manufacturers always have to consider the size of the cell phone itself.
